Lady Lions Fall in Nail Biter at Home Opener Against Hawks

Franklin Springs, GA - The Lady Lions fall in a nail biter at home opener against Chowan University 0-1. This lose to the Hawks brings the Lady Lions record to 0-2.

The game was tight the entire time going back and forth with possession of the ball and taking shots on goal. The Lady Lions had six shots with three on goal, while the Hawks had eight shots with 5 on goal. Out of the six attempted shots by the Lady Lions, Jessie Denney led all players in the game with four shots and two on goal. 

Both teams battled the entire time, but the Hawks were able to capitalize on a goal with only 4 minutes left in regulation time. The shot was set up after a shot by with less than four minutes remaining in regulation, after a shot hitting the cross bar by Harriett Pallett, Mackenzie Imamura was able to found the back of the net giving the Hawks the victory.

Up next for the Lady Lions, they will be playing away against Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday September 7th at 6:30 p.m.
