Lady Lions Hang On Against AUM

Lady Lions Hang On Against AUM

Montgomery, AL – The Emmanuel Woman's soccer team travelled today to Alabama to play Auburn University at Montgomery. They unfortunately suffered a tough loss to the Warhawks, but gave their all.

The Auburn Warhawks looked dangerous early recieveing a penatly kick within the first few minutes of the game. Yet, this did not deter the Lady Lions, and the Warhawks were given no other easy chances at making a goal. The Lady Lions stepped up their intensity, and were determined to score a goal. However, they were unlucky at every chance, and kicked a total of four shots at the Auburn goalkeeper.

After half-time, the Warhawks changed their game strategy slightly, and shorty within the second half, the second goal was scored again by Ruby Mendez, this time with Michaela Dahlin assisting. The Lady Lions started playing heavy defence, and manged to keep the Warhawks off the score board until the last minute of the game.

While Emmanuel did not get anything to show on the scoreboard for their first half efforts, the Lions strung together several good passing sequences and looked threatening at several key moments up forward.

The Lions will take to the field next on Saturday, 17th September to play Mount Olive University at 1:00PM. We wish our Lady Lions all the best.
