Lady Lions Soccer Drop to Mars Hill

Mars Hill, NC – The Lady Lions soccer team traveled to North Carolina today to play Mars Hill University. They were unfortunately defeated 0-3.

The Lions started off the game slow, and struggled to find their rhythm. The Mountain Lions took full advantage of this, and the first goal was within the first two minutes of the game by Aleonya Hunter. After, this first goal was scored the Lions stepped up their game and improved their strategy, and the Mountain Lions were given no more easy chances to score goals. Our Lady Lions started playing some impressive plays, but they were unlucky of every attempt to score.
The next goal was shortly before the end of the first half after a Mountain Lion collected the ball off the rebound. Despite being two goals down on the scoreboard, the Lions did not lose their determination, and continued to give everything they had, but the Mountain Lions just had the upper hand tonight in the game. Mars Hill scored the final goal midway through the second half.
 
Regardless of the score tonight, the Lady Lions played hard, and there was a total of twelve saved goals. Our ladies will take to the home field again when the face conference foe, Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday 15th. Kick off is set for 3:00PM.
