Women's Soccer Captures Another Conference Win Against Trojans

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team travelled to Mount Olive, North Carolina on Sunday afternoon for a conference match against the University of Mount Olive Trojans. While both teams attempted an equal number of shots, it was Emmanuel that came out on top with a final score of 2-1.

The Lions were the first to score when Junior Lindsay Lee collected a ball off the Mount Olive defender and fired away into the center net. Lee's third goal of the season came just eight minutes into the match.

Two minutes later, Senior Kayla Brown would follow up with her fourth goal of the season with a shot off the left post into the right corner. The remaining half would remain scoreless.

Halfway into the second half, Mount Olive had their sole goal of the game, affording the Lions the victory with a final score of 2-1.

Senior Goalkeeper Hannah Welch only allowed 1 of the 9 shots on goal, tallying 8 saves.

Next up for the Lions is an away game against Georgia Gwinnett on Wednesday, September 26th.
