Women's Soccer Taken Down By Georgia Gwinnett

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Women's Soccer didn't get the finish they were hoping for as they fell 2-1 to the NAIA #19 ranked Georgia Gwinnett College.

While the Grizzlies controlled the field for almost the entire length of the game, the Lions were only outscored by one goal. This was due largely to an impressive performance from Senior goalkeeper Hannah Welch who had 9 saves on the night.

The Grizzlies fired their first successful shot five minutes into the match to take an early lead.

Emmanuel followed up ten minutes later with a goal from Junior Lindsay Lee to tie up the score.

The final goal would come from Georgia Gwinnett with just over sixteen minutes remaining in the first half.

The Lions were held down to only one shot on goal compared to the Grizzlies eleven.

The ladies will take on Conference foe Converse College for their next match at home on Friday, September 29th.
