Women's Soccer Stuns Converse In 4-1 Victory

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Women's soccer had a dominant performance over conference opponent Converse College on Saturday night with a 4-1 victory.

The Lions started off the match with a shot fired in by Sophomore Hannah Logue to take an early lead.

The Valkyries would strike back just twenty seconds later with a shot into the bottom right corner.

With the score tied at 1-1, the remainder of the match would be in favor of the Lions who would go on a three point scoring spree.

Junior Lindsay Lee would set up Logue with a pass down center field just under nineteen minutes into the match. Logue then had a fast break to the net, slipping the shot in over the goalie.

Lee would then strike the ball in for her first goal of the night after capitalizing on a deflected ball.

The final goal of the night came once again from Logue who quickly fired in a shot off a blocked ball before the defense could reposition.

The Lions had 13 shots on goal compared to Converse's six. Senior Hannah Welch tallied 4 saves.

Next up for the Lions is conference opponent Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday, October 3rd.
