JOHNSTONE SETS ANOTHER EC SCHOOL RECORD

SEWANEE, TN --- Friday, October 28th, 2016. The lady lions traveled to Sewanee, TN for the 16th Annual Sewanee Invitational, a two-day meet, hosted by Sewanee University of the South.


DAY 1

The women started off the night, winning the 100 Medley Relay Tobo, Tamblyn, Gonzalez, and Ostojska (54.13) placing 1st.

In the 50 breast Calka (32.80) placed 2nd, Tamblyn (34.53) placed 6th, Duarte (36.66) placed 14th, Queen (40.80) placed 24th and Burtt (43.01) placed 25th.

In the 50 back Tobo (28.68) placed 3rd, Ostojska (29.46) placed 5th, Dawes (31k6.73) placed 10th and Curtright (41.25) placed 27th.

In the 100 IM Calka (1:02.47) placed 2nd, Tobo (1:03.90) placed 3rd, Tamblyn (1:07.18) placed 8th, Dawes (1:07.91) placed 10th, Duarte (1:08.05), Gonzalez (1:09.98) placed 19th.

In the 50 Fly Johnstone (27.71) placed 3rd, Gonzalez (28.40) placed 6th, Ostojska (28.79) placed 8th, Harkness (29.43) placed 12th and Burtt (37.80) placed 30th.

In the final relay event of the night, the 100 free relay Johnstone, Calka, Dawes, and Harkness (48.53) placed 3rd.

In the 1650 free Johnstone (18:14.17) placed 1st, Harkness (18:36.05) placed 2nd and Curtright (25:43.82) placed 10th. Johnstone broke the EC school record by 30 seconds. This is her 4th school record in 4 meets.

Assistant Swim Coach, Bernadette Audet commented; "Day 1 of the Sewanee invitational was exciting we had lots of fast swims and I can't wait to see what day two brings." GO LIONS!
