Gainesville, GA --- Women's Swimming competed at the 6th Annual Brenau Invitational November 18-19, 2016 at the Francis Meadows Aquatic Center, in Gainesville, GA. On Friday, day 1, the women came out strong breaking 5 school records. The women were leading the event by just 2 points (over 12 teams). On Saturday, day 2, the women swam even faster, setting 7 more school records and winning 2 events, in route to winning the competition by just 11 points.

Head Swim Coach, Allen Gilchrest, commented; "After 2 days, 3 sessions, and 94 swims by 13 ladies, our Emmanuel women finished 1st overall, set 12 EC school records, and finished the semester undefeated! Our ladies have won all 4 dual meets and all 3 invitational meets this Fall.

I am truly humbled by how much God has blessed our ladies team this season; and how hard our ladies have worked in training and the classroom, as a team, I am so proud of them.

This was the last swim meet for Senior Captain, Emma Tamblyn, from Australia. Emma was a member of the EC soccer and swimming team. Emma finished her swimming career in style at the Brenau Invite, with 5 school records (100 breast, 200 breast, and relay member 200, 400 free relays, 200 medley relay) and helped lead the ladies team to an undefeated semester. We wish Emma the best as she leaves Emmanuel. It has been my privilege and honor to Coach Emma these 4 years, and we will miss her greatly, but know God has great things in store for her!

-Coach Gilchrest
