Simioni Named Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Emmanuel College's Julia Simioni has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Oct. 15-21, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore from Concordia, Brazil, Simioni tallied four first-place victories and helped the Lions remain undefeated in dual meets at 6-0 on the season.

Against Berry, Simioni would win two individual events in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.67) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.33). She would also lead her team to a pair of relay wins in the 200-yard medley relay (1:51.53) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:40.42).

 

Also nominated for Women's Swimmer of the Week:
Sarah Russell (Converse) - Two first-place finishes and two second-place finishes in four races.
