Lady Lions drop nail biter to Southern Wesleyan

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Tennis Team hosted the cross town rivals Southern Wesleyan at the Franklin County High School Tennis Courts.

The Lions opened up the match behind on the scoreboard with a sole doubles win at the #1 seed, but got back in the game with a solid win at the #1 spot by the hands of the Freshman, Fantine Botella. The Lions dropped the #5 court, putting them behind again in the overall score, but Pearllan Cipriano and Chloe O'Connor helped Emmanuel to take the lead for the first time in the dual.

The Warriors fought back and finally tied the match by capturing an important win at #4.

The match was tied at 4-4 and the warriors finally clinched the event by winning at #6. Coach Darbar commented, "it was a tough loss, of course, but I was happy to see how the girls were able to fight through the entire dual by supporting each other the entire day. We are a young team and we are learning as we move through the season and we are playing better and better every single day."

The Lions will be back in action after the Spring Break where they travel to the University of North Georgia campus to play University of Illinois – Springfield. First serve scheduled for 2PM.
