Lady Lions Sweep Tornado for third consecutive conference win!

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team hosted the visiting King University Tornado for another conference Carolina match this Saturday.

The Lady Lions were looking to continue their winning streak in conference Carolinas play this season, now facing a much more experience team, but Emmanuel was very efficient today in doubles play and quickly dispatched their opponents on all three courts. At #3 Silva/Cipriano dominated the match for an impressive 8-0 win. At #1 Botella/O'Connor found little to no issues to grab an 8-2 win and not too long after, Kiderlen/Raich defeated their opponents by 8-5.

With a comfortable 3-0 lead, Emmanuel only needed two more wins to clinch the dual match. The first singles point came from the hands of the Sophomore Fantine Botella at #1 by a solid 6-3 6-1 win. The Lady Lions did not slow down and kept the pressure going for two more wins. First on court #5 from Katharina Kiderlen by 6-1 6-1 and then from the Freshman, Maria Raich at #3 by 6-1 6-3. With the match already decided, Emmanuel also won the three remaining courts: Pearllan Cipriano defeated her opponent by a comfortable 6-0 6-2, Victoria Silva wasted no time for an 8-2 win, and the Junior, Abi Muesse closed the sweep with an 8-4 win. This match marked the third consecutive conference Carolinas win for the young Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team in the 2017 season!

The Lady Lions Tennis Team will continue the season now on the road this Thursday when they will be facing a NCAA Regional Foe, Lander University. First serve is scheduled for 2PM!
