Lady Lions earns 5th straight conference win!

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis Team hosted the visiting Belmont Abbey College today for another Conference Carolinas match.

The Doubles event kicked off in favor of the Lady Lions with a quick win on court #3, formed by Cipriano/Silva by 8-2, but The Crusaders tied the match by capturing a win on court #2. With the match tied overall, the final possible doubles point would come from Doubles #1. After opening a comfortable 7-4 lead, the duo Botella/O'Connor, missed a few chances to close the match and they saw the crusaders get two more games before the home doubles team closed the event by 8-6.

The overall score was now 2-1 in favor of Emmanuel and the third point came rather fast by the hands of the Freshman Maria Raich by a solid 6-2 6-1. The fourth point came from the Sophomore Fantine Botella by 6-2 6-4. The Lady Lions earned the clinching point with a great win by Pearllan Cipriano who found little to no trouble to defeat her opponent by 6-1 6-3. On court #5, Katharina Kiderlen had to battle for three sets to earn the sixth point of the day by 4-6 6-1 6-3.
