WINSTON SALEM, NC. - The Lions took to the track this weekend for the first indoor meet of the spring semester at JDL Fast Track in Winston Salem, NC. The ladies have been hard at work training together again since Christmas break. Following an intense week of training, they performed very well against the competition they faced.
Junior Ashley George shined in her two events, setting personal bests in both the 60 meter hurdles and the 200 meter dash. Freshman Alex Quarles set a new personal record, beating her previous indoor 3,000 meter run time by nearly two seconds. Several other members of the team are extremely close to hitting an NCCAA Championship qualifying mark, which will allow them to compete at Cedarville, OH in February.
The meet was a dual scoring format so each team could see how their performance stacks up against other individual teams. Emmanuel stacked up very well against the competition beating several conference and regional NCAA DII teams.
