Lady Lions Fall to Georgia College

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA - The Lady Lions volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Georgia College Bobcats on September 7th, bringing their record for the season to 0-4. 

The Lady Lions got off to a slow start in the first and second sets, losing both matches 16-25. In the third set, the Lady Lions began to build momentum; however, it wasn't quite enough to overtake the Bobcats, losing the third set 22-25. 

Freshmen Sarah Neill, senior Erica Burnham, and sophomore Julie de Blanck combined to have 20 kills and 20 digs. While freshman Bethany Winston might not have had any kills, she led the team with 15 digs for the night. 

Freshman Stephanie Hardy led the team in assists with a total of 12 while senior Brittany Scarbrough contributed a total of 8 assists, equaling a total of 20 assists combined.

Next up, the Lady Lions volleyball team will travel to Florence, SC for the Francis Marion Tounament. In the first round, the Lady Lions will face UNC Pembroke on Friday, September 9th at 10:00 a.m.
