Lady Lions Volleyball Win Two In a Row

Lady Lions Volleyball Win Two In a Row

Spartanburg, SC – The Lady Lions Volleyball team traveled to South Carolina today to take on conference foe, Converse College.

The Lady Lions came to the court bringing everything they had. They started off the game playing strong and not making any unforced errors, and trying to gain an early lead. They succeeded in getting this lead and managed to close the first set, 25-14.
The second set started with the Lady Lions playing with the same intensity as before, but the Valkyries also decided to step up their game, which made the score a little closer, and forced the Lions to rethink their strategy. Emmanuel stayed strong and won the second set 25-23.
With the Emmanuel already up two sets, the Lady Lions flowed with their momentum, and made Converse fight for every point. The Lions executed some incredible plays and won the third set, 25-15, to close out the game.

The win from the previous night, gave the Lions the confidence to attack hard tonight. Julia de Blanck, and Sarah Neill each had 10 kills to their name, along with Brittany Scarbrough assisted 34 kills of the course of the game.

Congratulations to the Lions on these back to back conference wins. The Lady Lions will take to the court at home when they take on Erskine College on October 14th at 7:00 a.m. Be sure to wear pink if attending this game, as the Lions will be playing in support of breast cancer week.
