Lady Lions Volleyball Fall to North Greenville 1-3 in Close Sets

Tigerville, SC – The Lady Lions traveled to South Carolina today to play Conference Carolina foe, North Greenville University. They were defeated unfortunately in four sets.

Right from the beginning of the game, the Lions brought everything they had to the court. They started the first set with high momentum with both teams fighting to get every point, and trying to gain the lead on the scoreboard. The score bounced back and forth between the Lions and the Crusaders, with the Crusades narrowly closing the first set 25-22. The second set started off where the first set ended in terms of the atmosphere on the court. Both teams again were battling extremely hard to gain every point, with the Lions playing some impressive plays. However, once again NGU won the second set 25-22. With two sets down on the scoreboard, the Lions were determined to keep up with their momentum and win the third set. This mentality served them well and Lions won the third set 25-22. The fourth set was a nail biting one, with the plays being extremely long, as both teams were trying to eliminate unforced errors. The fourth set was won by NGU by five points, 25-20, and this closed the game.
The Lions went down this afternoon fighting extremely hard, with Erica Burnham, Jessica Gray, and Sarah Neil leading the team on the most kills. These kills were all made possible by the skilful assists that Stephanie Hardy provided.  

The Lions play another game today against Clark Atlanta College.
