FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. - The Emmanuel College Women's Volleyball Team had the most successful season in program history this year. Among the exceptional squad was one player who led the Lions nearly every game, Julie de Blanck.
Julie is a Junior Middle Hitter from Copenhagen, Denmark. In her third year at Emmanuel, Julie has established herself as a top player in Conference Carolinas, and even Player of the Year in the National Christian College Athletic Association. At the NCCAA National Tournament last week, Julie had a career high game of 29 kills, hitting .500. She led the Conference Carolinas in blocks per set with 1.18, was second in hitting percentage with .284, and led the team all season with 3.48 kills per set and 4.6 points per set. As a three year starter for the Lions, Julie has tallied up 877 kills, 117 service aces, and 291 blocks. Julie is on track to be the first Emmanuel Women's Volleyball player with 1000 career kills next season.
On top of being awarded the AVCA Player of the Year, Julie was invited to attend the AVCA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri to accept her award in person at the All-American Banquet on Friday, December 15th. This is an all expense paid trip that includes tickets to the NCAA DI Semi-Finals and Championship matches.
Congratulations to Julie on her exceptional performance this year and leading the lions to an NCCAA National Tournament Semi-Final appearance!
