FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team added their seventh conference win with a sweep of North Greenville University on Friday night.
The Crusaders took the first three points in set one to set the pace. Senior Julie de Blanck fired back for the Lions' first point, but NGU would return with two more of their own, bringing the score to 1-5. At the service line once again, the Crusaders would have an error, beginning a five point run for Emmanuel. The teams would continue to exchange leads before The Crusaders broke away and gave themselves the chance at match point, 22-24. Still holding on, the Lions pushed forward with four points, including a final kill from Junior Jessica Gray to take the set 26-24.
The second set was another close matchup, with both teams having their shares of runs. Facing a two-point deficit at 17-19, however, Emmanuel would deliver a barrage of kills, putting up eight points to the Crusaders one on their way to a 25-20 victory.
The third and final set was all Emmanuel with 16 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Emmanuel led the entire set taking a 25-16 victory.
The Lions will continue action on Saturday, October 13th as they take on Southern Wesleyan University on the road.
