Women's Wrestling Compete at Tornado Open
Bristol, TN - The Lions wrestling team made the trip up to Bristol, TN for the Tornado Open hosted by King University.
"I challenged the girls this weekend to wrestle the best that we have ever done so far. They rose to the challenge and did some awesome things." Coach Davis
The team did more than rise up to the challenge of their coach, they set records for the program. The team had an all-time high with placers (15), had two finalists and a tournament champion.
Coach Davis said "I'm proud of our girl for how they rose up to my challenge and wrestled well this weekend. I think we did good but I know that we can wrestle better; need to clean up little mistakes that are keeping us from winning more matches. We still have a bunch of wrestling to do and we want to wrestle even better at WCWA Nationals in about a month."
The women wrestlers will be on the road again the next two weeks going back in Bristol for a dual with WCWA #1 Ranked King University on January 20th head to Illinois for a dual with MacMuary College January 26th and a tournament at McKendree on January28th.
