Royals XC Challenge

Charlotte, NC - Rain or shine, the Women's Cross Country team takes to the course in Charlotte for the Queens University Royals XC Challenge.  Despite a fair amount of rain over the several hours prior to the start of the race, the course was still in great shape and ready for several hundred runners.

Makayla Hewell was the number one runner for Emmanuel, running a lifetime personal best for cross country, 18:57.  "Makayla really got out and put herself in the mix with some top runners in the NAIA and NCAA East," says Coach Hall.

Kaylynn Rainey, Heidi Schreiber, Carli Broome, and Cana Jacques really stepped up big for the ladies' team, all running season best times, and even lifetime bests for the 5k.  "Kaylynn really showed up today!  We're so pumped for her personal best and the way she competed," praised Coach Hilley.

The Lions will train up and be ready to get back after it October 22nd for the Sand Shark Invitational and NCCAA Region Championships in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
