Hermosilla Nominated For International Award

BARCELONA, SPAIN - Emmanuel College archer Roger Hermosilla is racking up international honors in his hometown of Barcelona, Spain.

Every two years, the region he lives in nominates the cities most successful athletes for the prestigious Best Sport Person of the Year award. Hermosilla's participation in international championships with the Spanish team along with his individual and team accomplishments with Emmanuel College Archery has earned him this impressive bid. This is not the first time Hermosilla has been nominated for this award, however. Hermosilla already won this award during the last edition back in 2016. If he wins the award this time, history will be made as no athlete has ever won this award for two consecutive editions.

Some impressive accomplishments for Hermosilla include being named to the All-Region team, being ranked 16th in the Nation at the individual level, 6th at the mixed team level, and 2nd in overall team computation. These accomplishments along with his many others earned him the significant honors of carrying the Flame of Mount Canigo last summer. In this cultural tradition, the Flame is distributed all around the Catalan region of Spain and reinforces the language and traditions of that region.

Voting for this award is open to all who would like to participate. If you would like to offer your support to Emmanuel's own Roger Hermosilla, please click on the following link and cast your vote for him.
