Hermosilla and Reshonsky Compete at U.S. Olympic Trials

DUBLIN, Ohio - 2019 is a busy year for many Olympic Sports national governing bodies as they begin selecting the best athletes to represent their country. The run for Tokyo 2020 has already started for several sports, one of them being Archery. Emmanuel Archers Roger Hermosilla and Rachel Reshonsky recently represented EC in the 1st stage of the Olympic Trials and the 135th U.S. Outdoor Target Nationals in Dublin, Ohio from August 13th-18th. This event was one of the largest ones ever hosted by USA Archery, grouping more than 600 shooters with the same goal in mind - become an Olympian.

On the male side, Roger Hermosilla faced almost 200 shooters including current world record holder Brady Ellison, along with Olympic Champions and medalists from London, Beijing, and Sydney. After competition concluded, Hermosilla broke his personal best in a national event to place 76th.

On the female side, Rachel Reshonsky faced almost 150 shooters including current Pan American Champion Casey Kaufhold and five time Olympian Khatuna Lorig. Reshonsky also broke her personal best in a national event, finishing 43rd.

Despite shooters battling inconsistent and strong winds, the national event saw the highest scores recorded in the last 8 years.

Next up, Emmanuel Archery will compete at the U.S. Field Nationals and the 2nd stage of the Olympic Trials in September.
