Rosene wins NAIA national coaching award

KANSAS CITY, Mo.---Emmanuel's TJ Rosene has been named the NAIA men's basketball Charles A. Krigel Award winner for the 2013-14 season.

This prestigious NAIA honor is awarded to the coach of the team that best exhibits respect, civility, integrity, and fair play. All of the qualities that define great sportsmanship.

In his seventh season at the helm of the EC men's basketball program, Rosene led the Lions to a program-best 33-4 overall record finishing as the NAIA national runner-up falling just short 70-65 in the NAIA national championship game. EC set numerous records during the 2013-14 season including consecutive wins (21) and highest NAIA national poll ranking (No. 7).

The Lions were also named the Southern States Athletic Conference Team Sportsmanship Award winners earlier this month at the SSAC awards banquet in Montgomery.

Rosene now has a 197-105 career mark in nine seasons of men's basketball coaching (2 seasons at Reinhardt and 7 seasons at Emmanuel).
