Lions defeat Bruins on Senior Night!

Franklin Springs, Ga - The Lions sadly said goodbye to four key seniors who played their last game in the Jack and Jane Shaw Athletic Center on Tuesday Night in the Lions win 95-66 win over the Bobcats. These seniors are an example of what the Emmanuel's Athletic program is built on. The intense defense they played not only led them to this victory but to the NCAA Region tournament.   More importantly, they are great players off the court.

The first half showcased some cold shooting from both teams, with the Bruins taking advantage of the early of the Lions jumping to a 11-4 lead. The Bobcats continued to stretch their lead behind the three pointers from Kyle Turner. The Lions, however, cut the Bruins lead as the half wore on by utilizing Senior Guard Steven Guinchard famous three's.

After the half, the Lions capitalize on a poor Bobcats turnover to extend their lead. The Lions would rely on Willy Akasson Clinton to zone in on the defense. Luckily for the Lions the Bruins lacked scoring and the Lions built a 18-5 run to jump into a comfortable lead. The Lions would continue with their intense defense as they utilized Senior Clinton Cybulski, who worked the ball inside. The turnovers and poor second half shooting doomed the Bruins from building any momentum.

Down the stretch the Lions controlled all aspects of the game, as Junior Guard Elijah Robinson silenced the crowd with a fast- break dunk. The team also got a boost from both Austin Farrow and Emerson McClung, who knocked down several three's. From there, the Lions continued to play with an intense offense and closed their last home game of the season with a victory 95-66.

The Lions now stand with an overall record of 22-5 on the season and a 16-4 conference record. The men will now travel to the NCCAA Region Tournament March 10-12, in hopes of becoming region champs.
