FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team won their home opener vs Truett-McConnell University on Tuesday night with a final score of 65-55.
Senior Kendrick Colvin got things started with a layup. Sophomore Brandon Simpson would follow up with a layup of his own, his first of 18 points for the night. The Lions continued to roll past the Bears, taking a 33-22 lead by halftime.
While the Lions controlled the lead the entire game, the Bears managed to get within four points midway through the second half. The Lions struggled with twice as many turnovers and half as many offensive rebounds as their opponent. Despite the negatives, Emmanuel still pulled through for the win, shooting 48.9%.
Simpson led the Lions with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Lions will continue action on Friday at 7:00pm when they take on Toccoa Falls at home.
