Lions Fall in Final Regular Season Game 24-6

Belmont, N.C.  – The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team fell on the road to top-10 ranked Belmont Abbey 24-6.

The Crusaders came out of the locker room rolling taking the first quarter 6-0. This run for Belmont Abbey spilled into the second quarter, until the final three-minutes of the half when Matthew Mitchell scored the first EC goal of the game. The Lions would once again score in the final second of the half when Allan Velasquez found Travis Brave Heart for the score to end the half, 14-2. 

After the break, the Crusaders scored four more to extend the lead to 18-2. Lance Olson found Alex Stull to score the lone goal for EC in the third quarter. Belmont Abbey scored three more before the final break. 

Stull found Brave Heart to put EC on the board first in the final quarter. A pair of goals for Mitchell would be the last for EC in their regular season campaign falling 24-6 to the Crusaders.

Matthew Mitchell scored a hat-trick against the Crusaders.

The Lions played well between the restraining lines going 17-19 in clears.
