BANNER ELK, NC – The Lady Lions were on the road this weekend to play the Lees-McRae Bobcats in their 8th conference game of the season. The Lady Lions were able to pull of a victory in the last quarter ending the game 69-64.
Hannah Grogan led the ladies in scoring with 14-points for the game. She was closely followed by Ajah Taylor who scored 13-points on the Bobcats.
Each quarter brought new intensity with it as the Lady Lions had a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bobcats regained the lead and were up by ten at half-time. With one-minute left in the third quarter, the Lady Lions were able to put a stop to the Bobcat's scoring and tie the game up 50-50 to go into the fourth quarter. That was the end of the game for the Bobcat's as the ladies entered the fourth quarter and gained a 5-point lead. Ajah Taylor blocked the last shot by the Bobcats on the buzzer to end the game.
The Lady Lions now hold an overall record of 9-5, with a conference record of 4-4. They will continue to be on the road on January, Wednesday 17th at King University.
