Lady Lions Overtime Loss against Barton

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Lady Lions played at home against Barton College. Remembering their loss against Barton on the road back in December, the Lady Lions were ready to play. The Lady Lions held on tight throughout the game, yet they pulled out a loss in overtime 68-65.

Mikayla Trombley led the ladies in scoring with 16-points, followed by Emily Dreslinski with 10-points. Leading the team in rebounds was Lochlain Corliss.

The ladies came out ready to play and showed us that during the first quarter. Avery Scarbrough scored the first two points and Ajah Taylor scored the final two points of the quarter. The ladies went into the second quarter with a lead, 9-16. The second quarter started off shaky allowing Barton to tie the game 19-19. Barton was able to take over the lead going into halftime, 29-27. The Lady Lions came out of halftime and used their defense to hold on in the beginning, but Barton continued to gain. At the end of the third quarter Barton was up 50-43. The Lady Lions pulled a big comeback to go into overtime 59-59. Overtime was neck and neck, but Barton was able to pull out a 3-point win, 68-65.

The Lady Lions will play at home on Tuesday, January 23rd at 5:30 PM for First Responders Night. All First Responders will get free admission to both games starting at 5:30 PM.
