KANSAS CITY, Kan.---The Emmanuel College Women's Soccer team has again been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with their Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.

All of the team member's GPAs are averaged together and the team must have above a 3.0 team GPA to earn this distinction. The EC Women posted a 3.51 team GPA marking their fourth-straight year earning this award.

"Each year our team has raised the academic standards higher and higher within our program," said Head Coach Forrest Wimberly. "We are very committed to academic excellence and I am very proud of how these ladies balance their athletic, academic, and spiritual lives in this program. They are a very talented and hard working group of soccer players."

The Lions' 3.51 team GPA was the program's highest to date. The Lions posted a 3.09 team GPA in 2010, a 3.03 team GPA in 2011, and a 3.23 team GPA in 2011.

Twelve Lions were also named SSAC All-Academic Team members with a 3.25 cumulative GPA while there were four Lions named NAIA Academic All-Americans this season.
