KANSAS CITY, Mo.---The Emmanuel College women's soccer team has again earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 school year.

This marks the fifth-straight year the Lions have earned this national recognition.

To be named an NSCAA Team Academic award program the team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 for the entire academic year when averaging every player's GPA together.

The Lions posted a team GPA of 3.46 which was second highest on the list for all Conference Carolinas programs earning the award.

"Awards like these just highlight the hard work these ladies put forward in the classroom every semester," said Head Coach Forrest Wimberly. "I am very proud of the players as well as the balance and excellence they show on a daily basis."

The Lions just concluded the fall 2014 season and open their spring 2015 scrimmage dates at Alabama State in Montgomery, Ala. on February 28.
