Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel College Women's Soccer team was beaten 6-0 by Conference Carolina's Limestone University on Tuesday evening. The Lions looked to be dangerous early, having several surging runs into the attack, putting the Limestone defense under considerable pressure.
But it wasn't long until a dynamic Limestone attack began firing shots at Emmanuel goal keeper Breanna Grizzle. Limestones first goal was a tap in from a corner kick, as a big group of Limestone attackers were able to ensure the ball was forced across the line for a goal.
Just minutes before half time, Emmanuel was unlucky to give away a penalty kick, which gave the Limestone Saints a 2-0 lead going into half time. The second half saw an increase in intensity from the Limestone attack that were able to outplay their opponents and continue to find ways to put the ball in the net.
The Emmanuel College Lions will regroup as they look to face North Greenville University on Saturday, the team still searching for their first win this season. The game is set for kick off at 7pm at the Stevens Athletic Fields.
