Women's Soccer Falls to Mount Olive
FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team took on the Mount Olive University Trojans in their first home game of the 2019 season. The Lady Lions lost 2-0, moving their overall record to 3-2, conference record to 1-1.
The first half was primarily a defensive battle, with 43 minutes of play before Jasmine Pinter scored the first goal of the game, giving Mount Olive a 1-0 lead. 
The Lady Lions were unable to score in the first half despite getting off 10 shots, 6 of which were on goal. 
In the second half, Emmanuel managed to take 6 more shots with 2 of them being on goal. However, Taylor Lewis' 8 saves on the day for Mount Olive prevented the Lady Lions from scoring. 
Jaelyn Brown added another goal for the Trojans at the 83 minute mark, giving them a 2-0 lead that remained for the last 7 minutes of the game. 
Emmanuel's goalie, Hannah Welch, had 1 save in 3 shots on goal for the Lady Lions. Welch has a .611 save percentage in 5 games played. 
The women's soccer team will continue action on September 25th against Erskine College at home.
